Best thing that's happened to Utah and Layton in a long time .My buddies and I love this place food is been great every single time we've been in not to mention the service especially Angie every time we go in she'll take a few minutes and just and come to chat with us and make sure everything is okay, this is what service is all about as well as the amount of food you get. When you you go be sure you're hungry for some of the best Mexican food around. You get so much food that is like getting two meals in one we never can finish our meals and always end up doing the take home thing So glad La Puente Made it up to Layton!!!! Best Mexican Food in Utah!!!!!!!!! THANKS LA PUENTE FOR LISTENING AND COMING TO LAYTON WE LOVE YA!!!!!!!!!.
HORRIBLE. We used to go to La Puente all the time but now I think ill spend 50 dollars on some real food and not the CRAP La Puente tries to pass of as food. We spent 10 dollars on a plate of cheese enchiladas and when we got it the cheese wasn't even melted." Ok they got a whole 4 customers in there that's super busy for them maybe they will just fix It for us" but was I wrong. So I tell the server that its cold and the cheese wasn't melt, and I quote her response "SO DO WANT US TO THROW IT IN THE MICROWAVE OR SOMETHING" COME ON ITS COVERED IN VEGETABLES AND SOUR CREAM. Last of all she asks if we wanted boxes four our food and I said " no it was under cook and bland and I have never been to a restaurant where something under cook and they won't fix it". and she said " WELL THAT HOW IT IS WE CAN DO NOTHING FOR YOU( shruged her shoulders and walked away)". I can tell you that I have never left a restaurant with out giving a tip until today.
It was not the best... We waited for our waitress to bring us drinks for 10 minutes. When we ordered our food, it took them 30 minutes to bring out the food. Unfortunately, the food was not good at all. One of the members of the family got a Chile Verde Enchilada. It had no green chile on it. We paid $10.00 for a Cheese Enchilada with red sauce on it. The refried beans were very runny and not tasty. We did not have a pleasurable experience there.
This was our second time to eat at this establishment, we were seated quickly by this young girl, then we had to wait for about 10 minutes for our waitress to even come greet us, then wait for our drinks, this family came in after us, they got their drinks first while we still waited. then waited some more before our order was even taken. we ordered the combination plate which to our disgust, did not come with any kind of meat (in fine print on the bottom it says: add 1.40 for beef or chicken) this was at lunch time and the large combination plate was 9.00. What a rip off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this plate was just refried beans !!!!! WTF!!!! have you had a bean hard taco!!!!! needless to say this will be our last time to go to this place. We paid for this disgusting plate and did not leave a tip!!!!!

Just bought my son take out for mowing the neighbors lawns today. What a rip off! I bought the same meal for $21.00 that I could have bought at Lorena's in Bountiful for $13.00. It took them 30 minutes to get it to me and it's not as good as Lorena's either. Do yourself a favor, drive the few extra minutes to Bountiful and leave Lorena's ugly step-sister alone.
BTW, this is my 2nd experience...I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt after the first time. Slow service and bland, overpriced food is all you'll find at this La Puente location.
