Bought a Living Social Deal for this spa and was SO excited to go. Really enjoyed it even though we had to buy special serum for our face that we weren't told about ahead of time. Ended up costing $30.00 on top of the $70.00 that we had spent on the "deals".
Even after the added unexpected fees, we decided that we enjoyed it well enough that we would join as members. I had to pay a pro-rated month for the remaining couple of days in November, then the first months would charge to my debit card. Wasn't I surprised when the charge came through to my account twice!
My husband called to tell the folks at the spa that this time of year with the holidays upon us we didn't have twice the membership fee sitting in our account and that we would have NSF fees if they didn't get the money back ASAP. My husband and I received no response to our phone call for over 7 1/2 hours. By then all of the "corporate offices" for the spa were closed as was our bank and nothing could be done. I may also note that I had to do a bunch of legwork to pull information to "prove" that we were charged twice... yes, that's right, "PROVE".
When they did respond the next morning it was with a suggestion that I drive 1/2 hour to the spa, pick up cash, and go deposit it in my account... who's paying for the cost of gas to do that? The owner feels that she has given "exceptional customer service", but even when I expressed my severe dissatisfaction with how the issue has been handled, no resolution or apologies were offered. Isn't that itself the definition of poor customer service?
I kindly requested that I just be able to cancel the membership given the immediate issues (not to mention the severity of the issues) ~ no surprise from other feedback I've read, they refused... Really??? They want someone so unhappy with how they handled the situation coming in twice a week to express the dissatisfaction to other members? Well, I can tell you that I will use my membership as a way to ensure other folks don't run into these same financial misconduct by Contempo Spa ~ at least for the next five months until my "contract period" ends...
